A house, not a hotel

Veera Bungalow started as one family's answer to the same question a lot of Mumbai households ask: where do we go that actually feels like getting away? The house they built is the one you're looking at.

How it runs

There's no front desk and no shift changes. A local caretaker looks after the house between stays and is reachable directly if anything comes up during yours. When you book, you're dealing with the people who own the place, not a booking platform's support queue.

The house rents out as a whole, one group at a time, up to 20 guests. That's deliberate: it means the garden, the kitchen and the sit-outs are only ever yours for the duration of your stay.

Nandgaon, Murud-Janjira

Two hours from Mumbai, two minutes' walk from the beach, on Maharashtra's Konkan coast.

Family-owned, family-run

Two Mumbai residents built this house to escape the city themselves. It's still run that way, not handed off to a management company.

One house, up to 20 guests

No shared corridors, no other bookings running alongside yours. The whole bungalow is yours for the stay.
